     Mary Catherine Hanshew was often called Kate. She was born on 14 June 1851. She married Jacob Miller, son of William Miller and Rebecca Watkins, in June 1891 Washington, DC; Jacob is shown as son of William Miller in record of sale of dower rights of Mary Miller 10 Mar 1894 (Liber JA-14, folio 50). He is also noted as husband of Kate Henshew. (m. Jun 1891 in D.C.) Kate died in May, 1899 at which time they were living on DuFief Mill Road (MC Sentinel).

     Randall (Randolph) Hanson was a planter and landholder in Charles County, Maryland. Starting as a redemptioner for Dr. Luke Barber of St. Mary's County about 1650, Hanson became a militia officer and eventually acquired much land. His holdings from 1663 included patents named Hansonton and Charley extending south along the Maryland Potomac shore from Calvert Manor on Piscataway Creek to present day Marshall Hall. In 1696 Hanson sold 500 acre Hansonton to John Fendall. The land included the site of our Edler family home in the Moyaone Reserve.
