     Ninian Beall was taken prisoner by Cromwellians in 1650 at the Battle of Dunbar, transported and served five years with Richard Hall of Calvert County but then served as a colonel in the militia of Calvert County. He settled in Prince George's County and lived a long and productive life as a land owner and planter. His properties included "Rock of Dumbarton" in Georgetown (now in Washington DC) and Bacon Hill in Prince George's.
