She married Edward Jones, son of John Jones and Modeste Beaulieu, on 12 January 1840 Valleyfield, Quebec Province, Canada; Marriage record refers to her as Celeste Strayner but her application for Civil War widow's pension has her as Alice Stringer. Marriage record is witnessed by Uriah Nason, Uncle of Celeste. Margaret Strayner, Aunt of the bride was also present as were Daniel Ryan and Garret Cavanaugh, friends of the groom.
