     Samuel Chase was a signer of the Declaration of Independence for Maryland and later a justice of the US Supreme Court.

He was born circa 1741. He married Anne Baldwin, daughter of Thomas Baldwin and Agnes Sanders, on 2 May 1762 All Hallows Church, Davidsonville, Anne Arundel Co.

Evidently a man of means, he built a house at James City at once, styling himself a merchant. He died circa 1668 VA.
