     Dennis Garrett was born in 1650 Baltimore Co, MD. He married Barbara (?) in 1668 Baltimore Co, MD. Dennis Garrett died on 2 September 1691 Baltimore Co, MD; Lee Garlock Lee Garlock (quoting from the Caples Family book) states in NGC msg 3/10/94 (COL-1) that Dennis Garrett was murdered by Capt. John Oldton in 1691 at "The Garrison", a fort built at the head of a branch of Jones Falls Creek for the purpose of guarding frontier villages against indian raids.
Oldton was found guilty and condemned to be hanged, but received a royal pardon in time to save his life.

They had 9: John (qv), Thos (qv), Christopher, William (qv), James (qv), Rebecca (qv), Mary, George, Martha.. children. Catherine Garton died on 3 January 1748 Orange Co, VA.

     John Garton was born circa 1651 VA. He married Martha [Garton]. John Garton died circa 1698 Richmond, Ind City, VA.

     William Garton was born circa 1635. He married Margarett Angell.

     Dorcas Gartrell was born circa 1724 Prince George's Co, MD. She married Matthew Pigman circa 1759 Frederick Co, MD; no known issue. Dorcas Gartrell died after 1784 Montgomery Co, MD.

     They had 4: Thomas, John (qv), Francis (qv), Dorcas.. children.

     They had 2 sons: John, Richard.. children. Francis Gartrell married (?) Penn.

     Her married name was Holland. Mary Gartrell was born circa 1735 Prince George's Co, MD. She married John Holland, son of James Holland and Amy Simmons, circa 1751 Frederick Co, MD. Mary Gartrell died before 9 February 1812; Not mentioned in will of John Holland dated 9 Feb 1812.

     Mary Gartrell married Benjamin Gartrell, son of Aaron Gartrell.

     Her married name was Griffith. Ruth Gartrell married Basil Griffith.

     Stephen Gartrell was born circa 1699. He married Sarah Turner. They had 5: Mary (qv), Dorcas (qv), Rachel, Ann, Sarah. children. Stephen Gartrell died on 12 September 1766 MD.

     Steven Gartrell married (?) Cole.

     (?) Gassaway married Sarah Watkins, daughter of John Watkins IV and Mary Warman.

     Anne Gassaway was born in 1670. She married John Watkins III, son of John Watkins II, circa 1688. Anne Gassaway survived John Watkins III on 26 February 1696/97. Anne Gassaway married William Burgess on 13 August 1697. Anne Gassaway married Richard Jones. Anne Gassaway died in 1742.

     Margaret Gassaway was born. She married Thomas Larkin, son of John Larkin and Katherine Holland, on 24 September 1697 All Hallows Parish, South River, Anne Arundel Co, MD.

     Nicholas Gassaway was born circa 1634 Westminster, London, England. He married Anne Hester Besson, daughter of Capt. Thomas Besson. Nicholas Gassaway died before 27 January 1691; when his will was proved.

     Cecilia Mary Gassinger was a columnist at the Baltimore Sun, she became the unofficial historian of Howard County, MD and the author of OLD HOMES AND FAMILIES OF HOWARD COUNTY, MARYLAND, (1987: 487 pp incl index). She authored many other manuscripts and news articles on local historical subjects. Many of them are included in the archives and manuscripts collection in the Maryland Room Hornbake library at the University of Maryland, College Park.

She was also known as Celia M. Holland. She was born on 2 February 1911. She married Amos Thornton Holland, son of James Philip Holland and Margaret Warfield Henderson, in January 1935. They had 4 children: James Clarence, Charles Thillman, Nicholas Henderson, Charlotte Thornton. Cecilia Mary Gassinger died on 22 May 1993 at age 82. She was buried Union Chapel, Glenwood, Howard Co, MD.

     Gerard Gassinger was An immigrant wood carver from Germany, Gerard Gassinger built a business as a maker of custom parlor furniture in Baltimore, Maryland.

He was also known as Gerhard B. As recorded at the 1910 census, Baltimore, MD. He was born circa 1874 Germany; Age shown as 27 yrs at 1900 census, 47 yrs at 1920 Census. He married Louise Thillman circa 1897; Shown as married 3 yrs at 1900 census.
